PlayAmo is one of the best-known names in offshore online casinos, and in 2026 it is also one of the most changed. The brand has a new operator, a new regulator, and a banner on every page telling Australians, once its biggest audience, that the site is not for them. This review sets out what we could check about PlayAmo as it stands now. We read its terms of service, bonus terms and payments page on 8 October 2026, checked its licence on the Tobique Gaming Commission’s validation page, and looked at the Australian regulator’s record on the brand. Where we relied on third-party reporting or could not confirm a claim, the text says so.
We file this review under New Zealand. Under the Gambling Act 2003, offering remote interactive gambling from within New Zealand without authorisation is illegal, but no provision makes it an offence for a resident to sign up with an overseas casino. That is changing, because the Online Casino Gambling Act 2026 is setting up a licensed local market, with the first licences expected around the end of 2026. Until then, a New Zealander who plays at PlayAmo is dealing with a company that New Zealand does not regulate, and no New Zealand body can step in if something goes wrong. This is a factual review for readers making that choice, not a recommendation to play. Our quick verdict: PlayAmo’s game lobby is excellent, but three operators in under a year, 50x wagering and firm withdrawal caps hold its overall score to 5.9 out of 10.
Trust & Licensing
Who runs PlayAmo now
The current terms of service, marked “Effective Date: 11.05.2026”, name Saphirix Solutions SRL, a company registered in Costa Rica under number 3-102-933997 with an office in Los Yoses, San José, as owner and operator of www.playamo.com. The same wording runs in the footer of every page. That is new. For most of its life since 2016, PlayAmo sat inside the Curaçao group of Dama N.V., which runs dozens of casino brands. A third-party directory of casino operators recorded yet another Costa Rican company, Novatrix SRL, under a different Tobique licence (0000002), as PlayAmo’s operator in March 2026. We could not confirm that from an archived copy of PlayAmo’s own terms, so we treat it as a lead, but it fits the picture of a brand being moved between companies.
A change of operator matters more than it sounds. Your account, your balance and your rights under the terms belong to whichever company is named in the terms on the day. When the operator changes, the new company decides how open disputes, pending withdrawals and old bonus conditions are handled. Three operators in roughly a year is unusual for a brand this size, and it is the largest single reason our trust score sits at 4.5.
The Tobique licence
PlayAmo now operates under licence no. 0000091 from the Tobique Gaming Commission. Tobique is a regulator created by the Tobique First Nation (Neqotkuk) in New Brunswick, Canada, and it has issued online gaming licences since late 2023. The footer seal links to the commission’s validation site, validate.thetgc.ca. That page named Saphirix Solutions SRL, listed www.playamo.com as the registered website, and showed the operating status as VALID when we loaded it on 7 October 2026. The licence names the exact domain we were using, which is better than many offshore casinos, where the certificate covers a different address from the one players actually reach. Our guide on how to check a casino licence yourself covers the same check for other regulators.
Two cautions apply. First, Tobique is young. Industry coverage describes it as requiring segregated player funds and independent game testing, but it has not had years of enforcement record, and we have not seen it act against a licensee. Second, its standing in Canada itself is contested in practice. PlayAmo’s own terms exclude players in New Brunswick, the province where the commission is based, and in Ontario, which runs its own regulated market. A licence that does not cover the province its regulator sits in is a reminder that this is offshore oversight, not provincial regulation.
The Dama history
PlayAmo’s former operator still matters, because many current reviews still describe PlayAmo as a Dama casino. In June 2024 the Court of Curaçao declared Dama N.V. bankrupt over unpaid player claims reported at around €800,000. The Joint Court of Justice annulled the bankruptcy on 30 July 2024 after the claims were settled, according to Curaçao Chronicle’s reporting of the case. Dama N.V. still holds a Curaçao licence (OGL/2023/174/0082) on the regulator’s register, issued December 2025 with no expiry date, and the ACMA has issued formal warnings to Dama N.V. over several other casino brands since 2022. None of that is a finding against PlayAmo’s current operator, but it explains why players who were with PlayAmo before 2026 should read the new terms rather than assume nothing has changed.
Australia
Every PlayAmo page loaded from an Australian connection shows a cookie banner that reads: “In proceeding I confirm that I am currently accessing this website outside of Australia.” The banner did not appear when we loaded the same pages from New Zealand, so it is aimed specifically at Australian visitors. Australia is not named in the restricted-country list in the terms, but the banner leaves no doubt about the operator’s position. There is history behind it. In 2020 the ACMA listed “Play Amo” first among 14 illegal offshore gambling websites it asked Australian internet providers to block, said it had received over 50 complaints about the group, and urged Australian users to withdraw their money. Offering online casino games to people in Australia is illegal for the operator under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001. We do not list PlayAmo on our Australian guide, and we would not treat the old Australian reputation as a reason to trust the brand today.
We score trust at 4.5 out of 10: a valid licence that names the right domain and clear published terms on one side; a young regulator, three operators in a year, a Dama history and an ACMA block on the other.
Games & Software Providers
The game lobby is PlayAmo’s strongest card. The homepage advertises “over 3,500 slots and games from 40 leading providers”. The lobby’s supplier menu and footer name Evolution, NetEnt, Play’n GO, Pragmatic Play, Yggdrasil, ELK Studios, Thunderkick, Habanero, Betsoft, BGaming, Endorphina, Amatic, EGT, GameArt, NextGen, Belatra, Playson, Booongo, Booming Games and others. That is a mainstream, high-quality list, and it includes several studios that many offshore casinos cannot offer. The lobby is split into categories for bonus-buy slots, Megaways, Hold & Win, jackpots, instant-win games, bingo and live casino.
Live dealer games come from Evolution, the largest live studio, so blackjack, roulette, baccarat and game shows are run to the same standard as at large regulated casinos.
Not every game reaches every country. The terms list provider restrictions: NetEnt games are unavailable in a long list of countries including Australia, Microgaming is blocked in Australia, the US, the UK and France, Amatic is restricted in Australia, and NYX games are not available in Canada. A Canadian player will therefore see a slightly different lobby from a New Zealander, and the headline game count is a maximum rather than a promise.
There is no sportsbook. PlayAmo is casino-only, with tournaments, missions, a “lucky spin” wheel, prize drops and a bonus store built around the slots. We score games at 8.0, the highest of any section in this review.
Welcome Bonus Analysed
PlayAmo’s homepage describes the first-deposit bonus as a 100% match “up to €/$1000” with the code FIRSTDEP. The bonus terms add 100 free spins, paid 20 a day for five days, starting about 23 hours after a qualifying deposit once you have wagered it once. Later deposits are advertised at 50% (code SECONDDEP), 30% (THIRDDEP) and 20% (FOURTHDEP). The examples given for those don’t add up: “Deposit €/$750 and play with €/$1075” is not 50% of €/$750. So we cannot tell you the caps on the later tiers. There is also a high-roller option of 50% up to €/$2,000 on a first deposit of at least €/$1,000 (A$/C$1,500), a Friday reload of 50% up to €/$250 with 100 spins, and Monday free spins of 20 to 100 depending on the deposit.
The terms that decide the value are short and strict:
- 50x wagering on all deposit bonuses, and 50x on free spin winnings. The terms do not say whether that multiplier applies to the bonus alone or to deposit plus bonus.
- A maximum bet of A$8, NZ$8, C$8 or €5 per spin or hand while a bonus is active, including feature buys and gamble rounds. Exceeding it lets PlayAmo confiscate winnings.
- Slots count 100%. Table games, video poker, roulette, poker and crash games count 5%.
- No bonuses on crypto deposits at all.
- A minimum deposit of NZ$25, C$25 or A$25 to trigger a deposit bonus.
- Winnings from most non-welcome bonuses (cashback, comp points, tournaments, weekly and VIP bonuses) are capped at 10,000 in your currency, and no-deposit bonus winnings at NZ$75 or C$75.
Here is the arithmetic. Deposit NZ$100 and take the 100% match, and you hold NZ$200. If the 50x applies to the bonus only, you need NZ$5,000 of slot play before withdrawing. If it applies to deposit plus bonus, you need NZ$10,000. At the NZ$8 maximum bet, that is at least 625 to 1,250 spins at the top stake, and many more at a typical stake. Clearing NZ$5,000 on roulette at 5% would take NZ$100,000 of bets. Our wagering requirement calculator runs the same sums on your own deposit.
The general terms add an abuse clause worth reading: keeping a “deposits-to-bonus ratio exceeding 50%”, placing maximum bets on high-variance games to inflate wagering, cutting stakes after a big win, or delaying bonus rounds can all void bonus winnings. Those phrases leave room for judgement, and PlayAmo makes the judgement.
We score bonuses at 5.0. The offer is clearly described and the max bet is stated in local currencies, but 50x wagering, the 5% contribution for table games and the absence of any crypto bonus make it weak value. Most players will do better depositing without a bonus.
Deposits & Withdrawals
PlayAmo’s terms list EUR, USD, CAD, AUD, NZD and NOK as account currencies, plus Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Dogecoin, Litecoin, Ethereum and USDT. Crypto is converted at Coinbase rates, and you cannot exchange between crypto and fiat inside the account. The payments page lists these deposit options, all free and instant:
- Credit and debit cards, from $10 to $4,000 per deposit.
- Several e-wallets, with limits from $1,000 to $10,000.
- Neosurf (€20 to €10,000) and Paysafecard (up to $1,000).
- Interac for Canadian players, from C$20 to C$6,000.
- Rapid Transfer (€20 to €4,000).
- The six cryptocurrencies, with small minimums and no stated maximum.
Withdrawals cover the same groups. Cards take 1 to 3 banking days (Visa through Original Credit Transfer, Mastercard through Payment Transfer), e-wallets and crypto are listed as instant, Interac e-Transfer takes 1 to 3 banking days (C$30 to C$4,000), and bank transfer takes 1 to 5 banking days with a €500 minimum. The terms add that bank transfers in USD are not available, that card deposits may be refunded to the card up to your net deposit with anything above paid another way, and that PlayAmo may pay by a different method from the one you chose.
Then come the limits, which matter more than the method list for anyone who wins big:
- Per transaction: €/$4,000 for most methods; crypto withdrawals capped at the equivalent of €4,000 each.
- Daily: 4,000 in your currency (EUR, USD, CAD, AUD or NZD).
- Rolling 7 days: 16,000.
- Rolling 30 days: 50,000.
- Progressive jackpot wins are paid in full and don’t count towards the limits.
A NZ$40,000 slot win would therefore take at least three weeks to withdraw in full. Two more rules apply to every player. Each deposit must be wagered three times before it can be withdrawn, or PlayAmo may charge a fee or refuse the withdrawal. And PlayAmo’s internal currency is EUR, so a NZD or CAD account carries conversion differences between your bank’s rate and PlayAmo’s. Our New Zealand online casino guide covers which payment methods tend to work best for Kiwi players.
Payout Speed
PlayAmo gives two different figures. The payments page and homepage say it aims to process withdrawals “within up to 12 hours”. Clause 11.6 of the terms says it aims to process withdrawal requests “within 72 hours of approval”, and approval itself depends on verification. In practice, a verified player cashing out in crypto or to an e-wallet can expect funds within a day. A bank transfer can take more than a week once approval and the 1–5 banking days are added together, which is the 1–8 day range in our data panel.
Verification can slow the first withdrawal considerably. The terms allow PlayAmo to ask for ID, proof of address and proof of payment method in Latin or Cyrillic script, to require a video call holding your ID if documents are not in those scripts, and to request a phone call. If PlayAmo cannot reach you by phone or email within two weeks of a withdrawal request, your account is locked and the withdrawal cancelled. Upload documents before you need them.
We did not make a deposit or withdrawal. We score payout speed at 6.5: fast crypto and e-wallet options and a published processing target, held back by the conflicting 12-hour and 72-hour figures, the strict verification rules and the daily, weekly and monthly caps.
Mobile Experience
PlayAmo runs in the mobile browser and offers an installable web app, promoted with a “Get bonus — Install app” link that leads to installation instructions. Its own description promises four navigation icons at the bottom of the screen. There is no app in the Apple or Google stores. We loaded the site on desktop only, so we make no claim about mobile performance beyond what PlayAmo states.
Customer Support
PlayAmo advertises 24/7 live chat. A LiveChat widget loaded on every page we opened, and the terms give [email protected] as the email contact. We did not start a chat, so we cannot comment on response times.
The complaints process is set out in section 15 of the terms. Support handles a complaint first and escalates it internally. Only the account holder can complain, and server logs are treated as final in any dispute about game results. If the internal process fails, players can go to EGIS, an alternative dispute resolution body operating under Tobique Gaming Commission rules ([email protected]). Section 17 then requires all disputes to be settled “exclusively by arbitration in Costa Rica”, and section 13 bars any claim filed more than a year after it arose. For a player in Auckland or Calgary, Costa Rican arbitration is, in practice, out of reach.
We score support at 6.5: round-the-clock chat and a named outside dispute body, limited by the arbitration and time-bar clauses and by the fact that we did not check service quality ourselves.
The Terms Worth Reading Before You Deposit
A few clauses in PlayAmo’s terms deserve attention beyond the bonus rules:
- Duplicate accounts. Accounts that share a residential address, household, IP address or device count as duplicates. PlayAmo can close them, cancel pending withdrawals and confiscate winnings. Two adults in one household should not each open an account.
- VPN use. Using a VPN to get around geographic restrictions is “strictly prohibited and may lead to confiscation of winnings”.
- Dormancy fee. After 12 months without a login or bet, PlayAmo can charge €25 a month (or the equivalent) until the balance reaches zero.
- Mistaken credits. If PlayAmo credits a bonus or winnings by mistake and you withdraw them, the terms say you owe that money back.
- Chargebacks. A chargeback or dispute on a legitimate deposit is listed as fraud, which can lead to account closure and confiscation of the balance.
Who PlayAmo Suits — and Who Should Look Elsewhere
PlayAmo fits a player in New Zealand or Canada (outside Ontario and New Brunswick) who wants a very large lobby with mainstream studios and Evolution live tables, plays without a bonus, verifies their account before depositing, and is comfortable with an offshore operator and no local regulator. For that player, the game choice is hard to match.
It suits almost no one else. If you live in Australia, the operator says it does not want your custom, and your regulator agrees. Bonus hunters face 50x wagering with the bonus locked to slots. If you need large withdrawals quickly, the daily and weekly caps will hold you up. And if you want to know which company will hold your money next year, PlayAmo’s recent history is the weakest part of its case.
A Pre-Deposit Checklist Built Around PlayAmo’s Own Fine Print
- Open the Tobique validation link in the footer and confirm it still lists www.playamo.com as VALID, and that the company named matches the footer.
- Read the current terms of service date. If it has changed since 11 May 2026, check the operator name again.
- Decide whether to take a bonus. If you do, keep every bet under NZ$8 or C$8 and stick to slots.
- Upload ID, proof of address and proof of payment before your first withdrawal.
- Wager each deposit at least three times before withdrawing it.
- Plan large withdrawals around the 4,000-a-day and 16,000-a-week limits.
- Do not use a VPN, and do not open a second account at the same address.
- Set deposit limits before you start, and keep the free, confidential support options on our responsible gambling page to hand. In New Zealand, the Gambling Helpline is free on 0800 654 655.
Where PlayAmo’s Paper Trail Still Has Gaps
Several points are unconfirmed and are listed in our data panel as well:
- Ownership history: the March 2026 Novatrix SRL record comes from a third-party directory, and the 2016 launch date is not confirmed from a registry.
- Dama bankruptcy: the dates come from press reporting, not the court file.
- Country access: the site loads for New Zealand visitors without the Australia banner, but we did not complete a sign-up from New Zealand or check from Canada.
- Bonus caps: the caps on the second and later deposit bonuses are unclear, and the first-deposit cap is shown only as ”€/$1,000”.
- Processing times: PlayAmo gives two different withdrawal processing targets.
- Complaints: we could not read AskGamblers’ complaint files from our network.
- Support: we did not check response times.
We will update this page when any of these change.
Final Verdict
PlayAmo still has one of the best game lobbies in offshore casinos: Evolution live tables, NetEnt, Play’n GO, Pragmatic Play, Yggdrasil and thousands more titles, with a licence page that names its own domain. But the company behind the lobby has changed three times in about a year, the regulator is young, Australians are now turned away after years as the core audience, and the terms combine 50x wagering, firm withdrawal caps, a dormancy fee and Costa Rica-only arbitration.
Our overall score is 5.9 out of 10, with trust at 4.5, payout speed 6.5, games 8.0, bonuses 5.0 and support 6.5, weighted as our methodology sets out. For a New Zealand or Canadian player who values game choice above everything and plays without a bonus, PlayAmo is a reasonable option among offshore casinos. For anyone who wants a stable operator and a regulator close to home, it isn’t.
Where a genuine licence would be listed
We could not match PlayAmo to a licence. These are the public registers where a real one would appear.
- → Curaçao Gaming Authority — licensing and licence register
- → Anjouan Gaming — public licence register
- → PAGCOR — Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation
- → UK Gambling Commission — public register of licence holders

Frequently Asked Questions
Who owns PlayAmo now?
PlayAmo's terms of service, dated 11 May 2026, name Saphirix Solutions SRL, a company registered in Costa Rica under number 3-102-933997, as owner and operator. For most of its history PlayAmo was run by Dama N.V. of Curaçao, and a third-party operator directory recorded a different Costa Rican company, Novatrix SRL, in March 2026. That is three operators in under a year, which is the main reason our trust score is low.
Is PlayAmo licensed?
Yes. It operates under licence no. 0000091 from the Tobique Gaming Commission, the regulator set up by the Tobique First Nation in New Brunswick, Canada. The commission's own validation page, which the PlayAmo footer links to, lists Saphirix Solutions SRL with the registered website www.playamo.com and showed the status VALID when we checked on 7 October 2026. Tobique has issued licences only since late 2023, so it has a short track record.
Can Australians play at PlayAmo?
PlayAmo says not. Every page shows a banner asking visitors to confirm they are accessing the site from outside Australia, even though Australia is not on the restricted-country list in its terms. The ACMA also listed PlayAmo among 14 illegal offshore sites it asked internet providers to block in 2020. Offering online casino games to people in Australia is illegal for the operator under the Interactive Gambling Act, so we do not list PlayAmo for Australia.
How much wagering does the PlayAmo welcome bonus need?
PlayAmo's bonus terms say all deposit bonuses carry 50x wagering and free spin winnings 50x as well. The terms do not say whether the 50x applies to the bonus alone or to the deposit plus bonus, so check the bonus panel in your account. On a NZ$100 deposit with a NZ$100 match, that is either NZ$5,000 or NZ$10,000 of slot play. Table games, video poker, roulette and crash games count only 5%, and the maximum bet while a bonus is active is NZ$8.
How fast are PlayAmo withdrawals and are there limits?
The payments page says withdrawals are processed within 12 hours; the terms say within 72 hours of approval. After that, crypto and e-wallets are listed as instant, cards and Interac take 1 to 3 banking days, and bank transfers 1 to 5. Limits are 4,000 a day, 16,000 a week and 50,000 a month in your account currency, with crypto capped at the equivalent of €4,000 per withdrawal. Progressive jackpot wins are paid in full.
Does PlayAmo accept New Zealand and Canadian players?
New Zealand and Canada are not on PlayAmo's restricted list, with two exceptions in Canada: the provinces of Ontario and New Brunswick are excluded. The site accepts NZD and CAD and offers Interac for Canadian deposits and withdrawals. From a New Zealand connection on 9 October 2026 the site loaded normally, without the Australia banner, and the sign-up form asked for currency and country. We did not complete a sign-up or check from Canada, so confirm availability in the cashier before depositing.
Where do PlayAmo disputes go?
Complaints start with PlayAmo's support team and are escalated internally. If that fails, the terms name EGIS, an alternative dispute resolution body operating under Tobique Gaming Commission rules, reachable at [email protected]. The terms also say any legal dispute goes to arbitration in Costa Rica only, and that claims must be filed within one year or are waived.
Our verdict: 5.9/10
