Live Casino Online: Which Studios Are Really Dealing Your Cards

Published · Updated · 7 min read · By the PlayersReports Editorial Team

The Dealer Doesn’t Work for the Casino

Log into almost any live casino online and the blackjack table, the roulette wheel, the dealer reading out your bets — none of it belongs to the casino whose logo sits in the corner of the browser window. It belongs to a studio. Evolution, Pragmatic Play, Ezugi, Playtech and Allbet build and run the actual broadcast: the cameras, the dealers, the shuffling machines, the game rules, the random number generation behind every card cut and wheel spin. The casino you signed up with is, in the plainest sense, a reseller of someone else’s television production.

That distinction matters more than it looks. When you sit down at a live blackjack table branded to one operator, then find the near-identical table at a competitor a week later, you are very often watching the same studio, sometimes the same dealer rotation, running the same game rules under a different skin. What the casino actually contributes is everything around the broadcast: the account you deposit into, the currency it settles in, the speed it pays out at, and — if something goes wrong — who you argue with. This page works from that starting point. We’re not asking “which live casino has the best games”, because in most cases the games are licensed from the same small pool of studios. We’re asking which operators wrap that shared product in the most trustworthy, fastest-paying, easiest-to-dispute-with package, based on the 14 operators in our reviewed dataset.

Who’s Actually Dealing: the Major Live-Dealer Studios

Live-dealer gaming is a genuinely concentrated industry, and knowing the studio names is a reasonable, if imperfect, shortcut for judging what a casino’s live lobby will actually look like before you open it.

  • Evolution is generally regarded within the industry as the largest dedicated live-casino studio group, running dealer tables out of production hubs across multiple countries. It’s publicly documented that Evolution absorbed Ezugi and NetEnt’s live-dealer operation through past acquisitions, which is one reason those brand names now turn up together on many operator sites rather than existing as fully separate competitors.
  • Pragmatic Play runs a live-dealer division alongside its slots business, and has expanded quickly in recent years with its own game shows and speed-focused blackjack/baccarat variants.
  • Playtech is one of the longest-running names in the space, historically strong in European-facing and Asian-facing tables alike.
  • Ezugi now sits under the Evolution umbrella but is still commonly listed as its own brand on operator sites, particularly ones with a strong Asian or Latin American footprint.
  • Allbet is a Macau- and Asia-focused studio that specialises in baccarat and other games popular with that regional player base, and appears mostly on operators targeting Southeast Asian markets.

Beyond this group, several of the casinos in our dataset also list regionally-focused live studios — Asia Gaming, SA Gaming, Dream Gaming, Big Gaming, BetConstruct and AE Gaming among them. These are real, operating studios, but because they sit outside the better-documented, more globally recognisable names above, we’ve treated them as a supporting signal rather than the basis for qualifying a casino onto this page. That’s a judgement call, not a claim that they’re lower quality — just that we have less independently verifiable public information about them to work with.

Our Qualifying Rule, Stated Plainly

To keep this page honest, we didn’t hand-pick which casinos to feature. We took all 14 casinos in our reviewed dataset and tested each one’s disclosed provider list against a single pattern: /evolution|allbet|ezugi|playtech|pragmatic play/i — does it contain Evolution, Allbet, Ezugi, Playtech, or Pragmatic Play (matched case-insensitively, as a substring)? A casino qualifies if, and only if, at least one of those names appears in the providers it discloses to us. Everything else — in-house-only slot platforms, arcade/fishing-game operators, apps with no confirmed third-party studio tie — is excluded, because we can’t credibly call a roster of proprietary in-house titles a “live casino” offering in the sense most players mean it.

Applying that rule to our 14 reviewed casinos: 12 qualify. BK8, Dafabet, Maxim88, me88, Spin Casino, W88, 96M, 1xBet, PlayAmo, Joe Fortune, SkyCrown, Starbuck88 each disclose at least one of the named studios. Mega888 and 918Kiss do not — both list proprietary, in-house-only game libraries with no independently confirmed third-party studio partnership, and so they’re excluded from this page rather than being reviewed here as live-casino destinations.

The order below is pure overall-score ranking, with one tiebreak convention applied consistently across every comparison page on this site: where two casinos tie on score, we rank the one with the faster verified payout-range ceiling first, then fall back to alphabetical order. There is no paid or featured placement on this page — nothing here is boosted or demoted because of an advertising relationship, and featured placement does not apply.

1. BK8 — overall 7.5

BK8 discloses Pragmatic Play and Evolution Gaming alongside NetEnt, Microgaming, Red Tiger and PG Soft. Payout timing in our data runs 0.5–3 days. Its site names Mettlemind Tech Ltd and an Anjouan licence that the Anjouan register showed as valid when we checked in October 2026, for the five domains listed there. That is a light-touch regulator, but it is at least one you can look up. Full detail in the BK8 review.

2. Dafabet — overall 7.1

Dafabet discloses Playtech, Evolution, Pragmatic Play and Ezugi alongside Microgaming, NetEnt, Asia Gaming, SA Gaming, BetConstruct and AE Gaming. Payout timing in our data runs 1–4 days. One of the longer-established brands here (it states it has served players since 2004). Its own payment page says withdrawals take one to four banking days to reach you after it pays out. Its Curaçao licence term ran to 15 October 2026 and was listed as under assessment, and its UK white-label licence covers only its British site. Its bonuses are priced in Indian rupees. Full detail in the Dafabet review.

3. Maxim88 — overall 7.0

Maxim88 discloses Evolution, Allbet, Pragmatic Play and Playtech alongside Microgaming, Spadegaming and Jili. Payout timing in our data runs 0.5–1 days. A broad live spread rather than a single-studio setup. Its payout range comes from player reports, because it publishes no processing time of its own, and its Malaysian site names no operating company, regulator or licence number. We found it on none of the Curaçao, Anjouan or PAGCOR registers we searched in October 2026. Full detail in the Maxim88 review.

4. me88 — overall 7.0

me88 discloses Evolution Gaming, Pragmatic Play and Playtech alongside SA Gaming, Habanero, Spadegaming, Dream Gaming and Asia Gaming. Payout timing in our data runs 1–3 days. Its footer names an Anjouan licence that the register shows as valid for two domains, not the address its own links led us to, and its About Us page claims Curaçao, UK Gambling Commission and PAGCOR recognition that matches no register. It promises a five-minute withdrawal; our range is wider because independent reports do not support that figure. Full detail in the me88 review.

5. Spin Casino — overall 7.0

Spin Casino discloses Pragmatic Play alongside Games Global, OnAir Entertainment and Spribe. Payout timing in our data runs 1–6 days. Its licence, as our review records it: Kahnawake Gaming Commission licence 01059 (Baytree Interactive Ltd, Guernsey no. 69691), issued 26 August 2026, for provinces outside Ontario and Alberta; Kahnawake's permit-holder list names Baytree Interactive Limited for www.spincasino.com. Full detail in the Spin Casino review.

6. W88 — overall 6.4

W88 discloses Evolution Gaming, Pragmatic Play and Playtech alongside Microgaming, PG Soft and CQ9. Payout timing in our data runs 0.5–3 days. The site was live in October 2026, despite an old directory listing calling it closed. Its visible terms name no regulator; text hidden in the page names a company registered with the Tobique Gaming Commission. Its Malaysian cashier takes bank transfer, DuitNow, Touch ’n Go, Quick Pay and USDT. Full detail in the W88 review.

7. 96M — overall 6.1

96M discloses Evolution, Pragmatic Play, Playtech and Allbet alongside Microgaming, Spadegaming, Big Gaming and NetEnt. Payout timing in our data runs 0.02–1 days. Its FAQ gives an official processing time of about 25 minutes, the most specific payout figure any qualifier here publishes. It names no regulator, licence number or operating company, only a street address in Malta, and we found it on no register. Full detail in the 96M review.

8. 1xBet — overall 5.9

1xBet discloses Evolution Gaming, Pragmatic Play and Ezugi alongside NetEnt, Betsoft, Habanero, Endorphina and 1xGames (in-house titles). Payout timing in our data runs 0.05–2 days. Its Curaçao licence is held by Caecus N.V. and was listed as indefinite on the regulator’s October 2026 registry. Its payment stack leans heavily on cryptocurrency alongside cards and e-wallets, and its payout range is wide. Full detail in the 1xBet review.

9. PlayAmo — overall 5.9

PlayAmo discloses Evolution and Pragmatic Play alongside NetEnt, Play'n GO, BGaming, Betsoft, Yggdrasil, Habanero, ELK Studios and Thunderkick. Payout timing in our data runs 1–8 days. Its licence, as our review records it: Tobique Gaming Commission licence no. 0000091 (Saphirix Solutions SRL, Costa Rica, reg. 3-102-933997); the TGC validation page lists the brand's own .com domain and showed VALID on 7 October 2026. Full detail in the PlayAmo review.

10. Joe Fortune — overall 5.4

Joe Fortune discloses Pragmatic Play alongside BGaming, Betsoft, Qora, KA Gaming, Rival, Dragon Gaming and Mancala. Payout timing in our data runs 1–12 days. Its licence, as our review records it: Curaçao Gaming Authority licence OGL/2024/676/0726 (Ridley Media N.V., company no. 140544). CGA certificate for joefortune.ooo shows Active; the CGA online licence register of 2 October 2026 lists the entry as expired 14 July 2026, Assessment in progress. Full detail in the Joe Fortune review.

11. SkyCrown — overall 5.3

SkyCrown discloses Pragmatic Play alongside BGaming, NetGame, Gamzix and Clawbuster. Payout timing in our data runs 0.5–3 days. Its licence, as our review records it: Tobique Gaming Commission e-gaming licence No. 0000064 (Metlait SRL, Costa Rica, reg. 3-102-911867); the TGC validation page lists the brand's .com and numbered mirror domains and showed VALID on 7 October 2026. Full detail in the SkyCrown review.

12. Starbuck88 — overall 5.0

Starbuck88 discloses Pragmatic Play and Playtech alongside Spadegaming and Microgaming. Payout timing in our data runs 1–3 days. Treat this entry with particular care. In October 2026 Starbuck88’s Register and Login buttons sent players to Maxim88 through an affiliate link, so the studios and payment methods recorded here describe whichever casino the portal points at. Its footer cites a Curaçao master licence that is misnumbered and expired in August 2024. Full detail in the Starbuck88 review.

Same Tables, Different Casino: What Actually Changes

If two of the operators above both run Evolution’s live blackjack, the cards, the dealer rotation and the underlying house edge are, for practical purposes, identical. What differs is everything the casino itself controls:

  • Betting limits. Live tables typically offer a tiered range of minimum and maximum bets, and the tier a given casino defaults you into — or unlocks at higher account levels — is a casino-side decision, not a studio one. Two operators running the same Evolution roulette wheel can quite reasonably display different minimum stakes to different players.
  • Local-currency support. This is one of the more genuine differentiators in our data. Several of the Malaysia-facing operators here advertise bonuses and support payments in Malaysian ringgit through local rails like DuitNow, Touch ’n Go and GrabPay, while Dafabet’s bonus structure is denominated in Indian rupees and supports UPI. 1xBet, by contrast, leans on a global, crypto-heavy payment stack rather than a single regional currency focus. Which of these actually suits you depends entirely on where you bank — not on which studio deals the cards.
  • Withdrawal speed. This is where the casino’s own operations, not the studio’s, show up directly. Our payout-time figures above run from a fastest floor of 0.02–1 days at 96M to a slowest ceiling of 1–12 days at Joe Fortune, and in every case the range itself matters more than the best-case number — a wide spread suggests inconsistency, not a guaranteed fast payout.
  • Dispute handling. If a live-dealer round is disputed — a misread hand, a disconnection mid-round, a delayed payout — you are arguing with the casino’s support and compliance process, never with Evolution, Playtech or any other studio directly. The studio supplies the game; the casino supplies (or fails to supply) a fair, timely resolution process. This is arguably the single most consequential difference between two casinos running identical tables, and it’s exactly why we maintain a dedicated complaints resource.

Bankroll Honesty for Live-Dealer Play

Live tables move faster to the eye than a random-number-generated equivalent in some formats, and considerably slower in others — a live blackjack hand with a real dealer shuffling and paying out by hand is not automatically quicker than an RNG table. But the game-show-style live formats and fast-rotation baccarat/blackjack tables that several studios here now run (Pragmatic Play and Evolution in particular have pushed quick-format games) genuinely do increase the number of betting decisions you make per hour. More decisions per hour, at the same house edge, means a faster theoretical rate of loss over time if the outcome runs against you — not because the game is “rigged”, but because more spins of a negative-expectation game simply compound faster. A human dealer reading out a hand does not change the underlying house edge by a single percentage point; the mathematics behind roulette, blackjack and baccarat are the same whether a random number generator or a person in a studio determines the outcome. Set a session budget and a time limit before you play, and treat “the dealer is a real person” as an atmosphere difference, not a probability one.

A Note on How Small This Dataset Is

14 casinos is not the whole live-casino market, and 12 qualifiers from that set is a small sample to draw sweeping conclusions from. We’re not claiming this page covers “the best live casinos online” in any global sense — only that, among the 14 operators we have independently reviewed and verified as of the date on this page, 12 disclose at least one recognised live-dealer studio and 2 do not. If your preferred operator isn’t listed here, that’s a gap in our review coverage, not a judgement against it. Read our methodology page for how we score, verify and update these entries, and treat this comparison as a starting point for your own checking, not a final word.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the casino or the studio actually run the live-dealer game?

The studio does. Evolution, Pragmatic Play, Playtech, Ezugi and Allbet build the production, employ the dealers, supply the game rules and generate the underlying randomness. The casino licenses that feed and wraps it in its own branding, account system and cashier — which is why the same blackjack table can look almost identical across several different operator websites.

If several casinos use the same studio, does it matter which one I play at?

Yes, because the studio only controls the game itself. The casino controls your deposit and withdrawal experience, which local payment methods and currencies it supports, how quickly it actually pays out (our payout-time data varies from under a day to several days across otherwise similar operators), and how it handles a dispute if a round or a withdrawal goes wrong. Two identical tables can sit behind very different account experiences.

Does a live dealer change my odds of winning?

No. The house edge on live blackjack, roulette or baccarat is fundamentally the same as its RNG equivalent, because it comes from the game’s rules and payout structure, not from who or what determines the outcome. A real dealer does not make a table more beatable, and faster-paced live formats can increase your rate of loss over time simply by increasing how many hands or spins you play per hour, not by changing the maths of any single one.

Why aren't Mega888 and 918Kiss on this live-casino page?

Because our verified data shows both operate on proprietary, in-house-only game libraries with no independently confirmed live-dealer studio partnership. Since this page is specifically about casinos offering recognised live-dealer studio content matching our /evolution|allbet|ezugi|playtech|pragmatic play/i pattern, operators without a disclosed match to that list are outside its scope — that's a scoping decision based on the data we hold, not a broader verdict on either operator.

Where can I get help if I think I'm losing control of my gambling?

Live-dealer formats, especially fast-rotation game shows and speed tables, can accelerate both time and money spent without it feeling that way in the moment. If you're concerned about your own play or someone else's, our responsible gambling page lists independent support resources, self-exclusion options and practical tools for setting deposit and session limits — it's worth reading before a problem develops, not only after.
